Today I worked on my presentation box that I will present to the class. I did a lot of typing a bit more research for my box. There are the 3 of us working on the presentation, we each have 2 boxes we present to the class. We all worked on our own and are now finished. I learned that snakes don't use their eye site very often, they use their scent. I also learned that it doesn't matter that the flag you wave in front of the bull is red. The bull reacts to it because it is moving. I thought that was pretty interesting. To me, the whole work session went really well. I started my boxes and stayed focus to get it done. Jazzy pants wasn't really focusing on the project that much. He was a little distracting, but eventually he got focused and got the work done. Next work session there isn't much to do. We are done, I might just review it and edit so it is good to go. I can not wait until we present to the class. I know that some of my peers are very excited to know why dogs are colour blind. I am very happy with the process of this GH. I am very happy t

Today I think went as planned. As you can see on your right, we have started adding pictures and information on our presentation. I also have found some great stuff about dogs and there vision. I found this one helpful website and it was Ceaser Mallin. He has wrote up information about the dogs eyes, I find it quite interesting. It's really neat to look at and some diagrams of a dogs eye. I find this topic very interesting and it leaves me wanting to learn more. Nothing went wrong today so I am very happy. I am more happy about the way our presentation is turning out. For a new presentation tool that we have never seen before, it looks pretty great! I can barely wait for the next session! We will just keep doing what we're doing and hopefully get done.

Today's work session went pretty well I think. I got some work done on the presentation and started talking a bit more about why dogs are color blind. Nancy and I added Jazzy Pants to our group, we did this because he had the same question as us and it only makes sense to join forces. There wasn't really anything that I thought went wrong. I thought that it was a pretty good session and got some information. Also, after school, Jazzy pants, Nancy Drew and myself had a chance to talk to a dog expert about our GH question "Why are dogs color blind?". It was so much fun having the opportunity to interview her. She has been working with dogs for 22 years and has given us some great information. Thank you Mrs. Middleton and Jona! I can hardly wait for the GH session! I will be researching and taking notes. Maybe even starting to put some information on the presentation.

Today went pretty well. Nancy drew and I are working together. Our big question is "Why are dogs colour blind?". Nancy started some more research and I was playing with our project formation tool. Our presentation is very cool. We have never worked with it before so we are taking on the challenge. I worked on that well Nancy worked on some note taking. We are finding this topic very interesting and we can't wait to look closer at it. I know that the note taking went well on Nancy Drew's side. But I struggled a little with the program. I couldn't figure out how to make the text bigger once I found out how to put text on. Other then that, it went pretty well. I love the idea that we are using a presentation tool that we both have never heard of before. It's great trying to figure out how to use it without any guidance. On our next session we will kind of do the same thing. I probably will keep finding new things out about our presentation tool. I hope that I don't spend all my time on that though. I would like to start on the research with Nancy. Its great to know that some one else in the class is doing the same question. It's neat to share our information around. Our teacher said that she knows a dog expert. It would be kind of nice to get to talk to her about the dongs eye. I think that the day went pretty well. I can't wait to continue on with this topic.

Today was a great working day. I finished! I got to work on my Prezi and I finished. I have learned a lot doing genius hour. I learned a lot during the process of making my video. The most important thing I have learned was to be patient. Making a stop motion video is a long process. You have to move inch by inch. For me, this means a lot of drawing. It took me a little over three days to draw everything out. It took even longer to find a spot to start filming. Once I found a spot with light, I started. I took one  picture then adjust an inch, then another picture then adjust an inch. I did that for a long time. My work has finally payed off. If I did this again, I would like to find a better spot, and something to put my iPod on. I tried everything, everything made a shadow in the light. I ended up just holding my iPod. My video could be a bit better. It's really really short, I wish I could make t longer. It's a lot of work. That's why you need patience. If you try to make a stop motion video, keep these tips in mind, plan out your idea before doing anything, pick a location that has lots of light, if you use a set make it nice and neat, use a tripod or a box to hold your iPod, take your time and have patience, make every movement small, and have fun and play around with your stop motion video!

What a day! I was to stressed out! I feel now that I am done the video I can it back and relax. It took me the longest time to get started. I couldn't find a spot anywhere. I need a spot with light and I need an object to hold my iPod too. That makes a big problem. Object + light = shadow. That pretty much messed me up. I couldn't use an object to hold my iPod because it makes a shadow. I ended up just holding it. The problem with just holding it is that the video moves everywhere. I don't think my video is that bad though. On monday, I would like to start a Prezi. I want to share some tips I used to make my video, I would also like to share what I learned. I am so exited that I am done my video! Next stop Prezi!

Today I actually got a lot done. I finished the weather and some texting. I have so much to do still with so little time. I would like to keep working and drawing tonight at home. I will finish drawing tomorrow and start making the video. I would like to be done on Monday. On mondays work session, I want to put together a little presentation on how I made the video and some tips I used along the making. Today I didn't run into any problems, but I'm sure I will run into problems when I start to make the video. I will solve those problems by google and my curiosity. I like to solve my problems by trying new things. Sometimes I press the wrong thing and it deletes  everything, so I will be sure to save it before I press buttons. When I am doing this, I really need to have patience...LOTS. All I want to do is start my video! I am trying my best not to rush, very hard though! As I was working, a few questions came to mind: How many pictures will this take? What sound effects will I use? And how do I get them on the video? I hope to solve these questions on the weekend.

Today was quite the day. I worked on drawing. I drew the weather app. I still have a long way to go. I need to draw up some more apps then actually start making the video. I am hoping to work on this more on the weekend. I want to draw at least 3 more apps. I didn't really have any problems today. I just got started right away and wasn't distracted. As I was working a question came to mind. "How do you make a song play for a little bit then stop. I was thinking how going into the music app and playing a song just a few secs. Next class I will probably still be drawing. I hope I get this done in time.

Wow, today was so tense. I was drawing my iPod for my stopmotion video. As you can see on your left, I am not done my home screen, but I'm done my lock screen. My stopmaotion is going to be very hard for me, it includes lots and lots of free hand drawing. I like challenges so this is a wonderful learning experience for me. The whole genius hour, I was drawing very carefully these 2 pictures. I think that even though just drawing these 2 pictures took me one hour, it was worth is. I would rather be very slow than very fast. I was slow because I know I'm not the best artist, and I wanted to take my time to to a good job. I had a difficult time trying to make this iPod drawing perfect. I still have a lot of work to be done. I still have to colour, draw, draw, draw, and draw some more. I can't wait to work on this at my house. During this work time, I came across some questions. How do people get the "click" sound on stop motion? I would like to look more into that. Next work time I am pretty sure that I will still be drawing. Can't wait!

Today we started to think more about what we will be doing for our genius hour project. I got a form and filled out a few questions, like, What do you know about this topic and what do you want to learn? What exactly will you start with on your 1st day and the materials you need? And, what will your project look like in the end? I know what a stop motion video is, it's a bunch of pictures put together to make a video I would like to learn different skills to make the video creative and interesting. On the first day of working on my video, I will look at other stop motion videos to get inspiration. I would also like to maybe build a stable stand to keep my ipod still. The only thing I need is my ipod. In the end, I will show my video to the class and maybe talk about some different skills I used. Today I had no problems and the day went well. I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I can't wait to finally get started!

Down below is 1 great example of a unique stop motion video I found on youtube.
