L. I- I can compare characters and their traits showing an understanding of who they are.
What I learned- I learned that Hannah and Gitl from "The devils arithmetic" are very similar. I also learned how to give traits to characters.
Learning Intention- I can write a persuasive piece of writing that has clearly developed opinion and ideas, uses evidence to support reasons, is well organized using transitions, and has a strong, original lead and conclusion.
What I learned- I learned how to create a persuasive piece of writing by having three strong opinions with supporting evidence. I improved the most by adding in transition words throughout my essay.
Learning intention- I can respond to selections I read by sharing my opinion and using explanations and evidence to support my thoughts.
What I learned- By doing this, I didn't just learn how to create a formal response, but I also learned what heroism is and looks like. I now have a way deeper understanding as to what a hero is.
An Acrostic poem is a poem made out of one word. The word is spelt down, like this:

I love doing these! I did mine on CHRISTMAS.
What I learned: I learnt that it kind of gets hard with a long word like CHRISTMAS. I had to think real hard because I didn't want mine to be like everybody else's. I think it turned out pretty good.
Learning intention:
I can write an imaginative piece that includes detail from descriptive language and similes.
I learned: How to write a detailed writing piece in 100 words.
Leaning intention: I can create a poem that follows a specific form and uses creative descriptive language to describe who I am.
I learned: That It isn't really easy to just answer who you are off the top of your head. You have to take time to think deeper about yourself.
