FALL.....

Leaves, vibrant colors, marshmallows floating on hot chocolate and the crackling fireplace. These are a few things that remind me of Fall.
Fall is watching one leaf at a time gently tumbling off a wiggly branch and softly landing like an airplane landing on a flat platform.Just haunting you to gear up and go in the zero degrees weather with a rake and madly repeat slam and drag until you get that pile of 60 after one hour of blood sweat and tears. Then you are on your best behaviour to remind yourself that you don’t want to jump in the pile but you do anyways! So you have to start raking all over again. This time it takes you two hours, because there are now more leaves. When you return back inside your hands are so numb that when you turn the cold water on and put your hands underneath it is boiling  hot and then you say “uh oh it's Fall”. Fall is wasting 24 lame hours scrambling around like a headless chicken from magazine to magazine waiting for your eyes to land on the perfect costume, but it never does, so you end up with a white sheet over your head and then two holes for your eyes.

Fall is spending five hours wandering around the field of orange pumpkins that look like they are as orange as last year's pumpkin field,(and that was pretty orange) looking for just the right one. You know what I mean, the one with the round but plump face that is just perfect to make the evilest face. The pumpkin that scares you the most out of every house you trick-or-treat at, the one with the odd shaped eyes and nose scrunched up like a pig’s nose and the mouth.........oh the mouth........ the mouth the one with the fangs and the pointy teeth. Fall is carving your pumpkin so it looks like the most evilest one ever carved, to me pumpkin carving is sitting down on the ground with big spoons and getting all the pumpkins brains out. I always end up using my hands and it feels slimier than snail and slug slime mixed into one. Next I take a sharpie and draw odd shapes for the eyes and nose then an odder shape for the mouth but at the end it looks more evil than I wanted it to be.

Fall is not going NEAR anywhere outside because you are frightened that you will freeze like an ice-cube in the freezer, starting to grow frost on it. Fall is the weather madly changing from the sun beaming down on you leaving a red mark on you to rain firing rain like bullets at you and everyone around you. Fall is frost all over. It's pulling out the big puffy winter jackets that might not fit, that fluffy hat that everyone laughs at but you don’t care because they're the ones freezing their ears off, pulling out those gloves that keep your hands from turning blue, and wearing pants instead of shorts because it is six degrees outside. Fall is changing your footwear from those purple and blue overused sandals to blue and purple rubber boots so you can enjoy a wander around the park and splashing in puddles freely like there is no tomorrow.

Fall is dragging yourself to Staples (when you would rather sleep) to go on a major scavenger hunt for the coolest new school supplies. It ends up costing a fortune, and you end up buying a backpack even though you agreed with yourself and parents that you don’t need one.

Fall is another soccer season starting up in the unbelievably freezing cold weather, like i'm talking below zero weather, so cold that if you leave a cup of water outside it will turn into pure ice. After my soccer game we are trying to avoid the nearest Tim Hortons but we end up going in and enjoying a nice hot chocolate with marshmallows bobbing up and down in the pool of chocolate, and it reminds me of when I swim in the pool and how I wish it was chocolate.

Fall - leaves, cold weather, Halloween, clothing, soccer and school. Oh, how I love fall.

What learned,I learned how to "paint a picture" which means I can make the reader visualize what the word says for example: " Fall is the hot chocolate with whipcream and white islands floating around and when you take a sip is warms your insides to the bone"
